The Brett L. Elliott Houston Urban Debate League Tournament

Please join us in celebrating and remembering the life of Brett L. Elliott at Westbury High School on February 19 and 20, 2010.  Friends and family have come together to sponsor the final pre-city championship Houston Urban Debate League tournament of the 2009 – 2010 academic year in Brett’s name.

Brett was a debater at Memorial High in Houston, a graduate of the University of Texas, and a leader in the Houston advertising, media, and public relations communities. His wit and shining spirit were blessings he shared with everyone he met.  He was devoted to his family and his friends, loved music, and always believed that his time as a debater greatly contributed to his personal and professional success.  Brett was taken from us by an unspeakable act of violence only two days after attending the first Houston Urban Debate League Championship Gala in 2009. 

We are sponsoring this tournament to continue Brett’s tradition of giving his time and energies to the things he most believed in. Please join us at the tournament and please also consider making a donation in Brett’s name to HUDL.
